Weather & Climate To avoid the rainy season which falls between March and May, it is advisable to visit the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy during the dry, winter months between June and September. The days are mild, with brilliant, clear night skies and game viewing is at its best.   Avoiding Crowds Visitors can consider traveling to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy during the quieter months of late May into early June, October and November before the short rains start or during January and February. Birdwatching is brilliant at this time of year.   Value for Money With only a few lodges located within the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the focus on value will come in the form of a more secluded and private safari experience. There will be fewer vehicles traversing the land within the conservancy and accommodation is mostly intimate and luxurious.

By Road Getting to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a four-hour drive from Nairobi along the Thika Road, passing through the villages of Makuyu and Karatina.   By Air Visitors who prefer to fly into Lewa Conservancy can fly with SafariLink from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Lewa Downs, a 35-minute flight. There are also private or charter flight options where guests will land at the Lewa Airstrip.
